In December 2018 HLA was awarded a Seaport NxG (Next Generation) prime contract, for a base period of five years with a five year option. This is the Navy’s follow-on contract vehicle to Seaport-e, and assures that HLA will be able to compete for Navy contracts into the future.
In November 2018 Regan McLaughlin and Harlan Lee provided protocol assistance at City Hall in Washington, DC for Mayor Bowser’s inaugural reception for the Washington Diplomatic Corps. More than ninety members of the Diplomatic Corps attended this event.
In November 2018 our prime contract with the Missile Defense Agency to do visual information production work at Ft. Belvoir and Dahlgren, Virginia; Huntsville, Alabama; and Colorado Springs, Colorado was further extended into 2019. We have worked at MDA since 2007, handling the agency-wide protocol contract at the time.
In September 2018 HLA Operations Analyst Regan McLaughlin started her first season as head coach of the Madeira School’s varsity field hockey team. This well-known school for girls is located in nearby McLean, Virginia. We are delighted that Regan was able to fit this into her work schedule at HLA.
In August 2018 Harlan Lee joined the Board of Directors of Protocol and Diplomacy International – Protocol Officers Association. PDI-POA is the leading worldwide association of protocol officers.
In July 2018 two of our mainstays in our Fairfax office, Pat and Gary Habecker, left to start very well-deserved retirements, with the proviso that they would return to assist us on projects as needed. We wish them all the best in retirement.
In March 2018 our subcontract with Na Ali’i, to do facilities support work at the Office of Naval Research headquarters in Arlington, Virginia was renewed for another year. Our work involvement at ONR HQ goes back to 2002, when we received our first multi-year government contract.
